Fortnite v40.30 dropped on April 30

Small patch overall. Mid-season cleanup for Chapter 7 Season 2 (Season 40 if you prefer the new numbering, which still runs until June 5). No big map shake-up, no weapon meta rework outside Reload. The interesting stuff for us is buried in the PC notes and one Reload rework. Quick rundown below.

Gia, the new Save the World Outlander hero

What this means for cheat users first

No EAC signature bump rode along with this build, at least nothing public-facing. The bigger note is the PC memory efficiency pass Epic shipped. That kind of change usually shifts a handful of internal layouts and pointer locations, so a few offsets needed updating. Our build was current within hours of the patch going live. Hours of downtime, not days.

Battle Royale

Rivalry got three new top tiers

Master at 150 wins, Grandmaster at 500, GOAT at 1000. Existing wins carry over, so if you've been farming Rivalry queues, you might already be sitting on Grandmaster without doing anything. Epic also said new mastery umbrella styles ship in v40.40 for anyone past Master.

Mostly cosmetic for us, but worth knowing. GOAT visibility on a public account is the kind of thing that draws manual review. If you're sitting on hundreds of recent wins after a clean history, the behavioral AI already has opinions. Pace it.

Custom Lobby Admin Panel

This is the fun one. Non-competitive modes (Zero Build included) now have a host-only admin panel. Whoever started the match gets the controls. The list:

  • God Mode toggle for everyone
  • Set HP and shield for all players
  • Time of day plus speed (you can set speed to zero and lock it)
  • Pause and unpause the storm
  • Adjust storm radius and first-circle close time
  • Kick players back to lobby

If you have a small group and a private lobby, this is a near-perfect testing sandbox. God mode plus paused storm means you can sit in place and verify ESP boxes, distance fall-off, and visibility checks without dying or watching the safe zone collapse. Faster than building a creative range.

Bug fixes worth a nod

Port-A-Bunkers no longer spawn underground. Picking up a downed teammate mid-roll no longer teleports them under the map. Aiming, shooting, and consumables work again at the bottom of an Ascender at New Sanctuary. That last one had been a quiet pain point for bind-on-fire setups.

PC client

Memory efficiency pass already covered above. Plan for a small offset refresh whenever Epic ships these.

Alt-Tab cursor bug in Fullscreen is fixed. Cursor no longer jumps to another monitor when you tab back in. Anyone running a second-monitor overlay setup has been working around this for months.

Client window no longer recenters when loading BR matches. Good for fixed-position overlays aligned to a specific window placement.

Mobile, briefly

Aim Assist now applies correctly when Auto Fire is off, including Pump Shotguns. iOS players also stop getting silently muted on session return. Not our usual audience, but the Aim Assist fix nudges mobile and console lobbies harder than people expect.

Reload got the most actual content

Map rotation is back to Elite Stronghold, Venture, and Slurp Rush. Elite Stronghold got a meaningful rework, not a re-skin.

Elite Stronghold v40.30 bunker redesign

Elite Stronghold changes

  • More trees and cover in Elite Armory
  • Hostile Hold interior simplified
  • Long sight lines reduced across the map
  • More chests
  • Bunkers visually redesigned to stand out (worth knowing if you use visual landmarks for rotates)
  • New Ascenders near the lake bunker
  • Peerless Pier now labeled on the minimap

The sight-line reduction is the one that changes how you play with or without an aimbot. Fewer 200m peeks means smart-routing pressure shifts to mid-range engagements. ESP gets more useful at exactly the range humans struggle with.

Reload loot pool

Vaulted: Wrecker Revolver, Grappler, OXR Rifle, Veiled Precision, Gatekeeper Shotgun, Chaos Reloader.

Unvaulted: Cube Splitter SMG, Morphite Heavy AR, Morphite SMG, Slapperoni Pizza, Seven Power Gloves, Grapple Blade, Tactical Pistol, Infiltrator Pump Shotgun, Combat Shotgun.

Heavy AR plus Combat Shotgun is the loadout to look for. Both are forgiving with aim assistance, both have predictable damage curves.

Save the World

Brawl of the Wild questline is back. Finishing it unlocks Gia (Outlander) with the Vital Bond perk, which heals tamed Wildlife for 15% of damage dealt. Niche, but if you've been holding off on a pet build, this is the moment.
